Scientific Profile

The CRC Disease Mechanisms and Functional Restoration of Sensory and Motor Systems has the long-term goal of gaining a deeper understanding of functional hearing and vision disorders in order to overcome them. Since the sensory and motor systems of the nervous system are closely connected, research focuses on both simultaneously.
Scientists investigate the mechanisms underlying genetic, age-related, and immunological disorders of the inner ear and retina. This work combines experimental and theoretical neuroscience with clinical research. The objective is to establish a continuous cycle linking patient care with basic science, allowing new findings to be translated into clinical practice.
